Temporary Shoring Rental

What is Temporary Shoring?

Temporary shoring is used to provide temporary structural support when structural walls are being built or rebuilt, and during foundation work and excavations. It is used to prevent building collapse or protect neighbouring buildings during construction. Our shoring systems use steel beams to ensure proper support during construction and repairs.

Systems can be used for shoring, concrete forming, temporary load-bearing, and structural stabilization work. Shoring systems can manage heavy loads beyond traditional scaffolds. Our durable and integrated systems help save time and money in scaffold setup. During demolition, shoring supports walls or floors until it is safe to remove additional building elements.

Our temporary shoring systems support high capacity loads and structural requirements. Johnson Playfair’s modular shoring integrates with our other scaffolding seamlessly to provide a full access and support system for a project. We will work with an engineer to provide designs for your project where required.

When Is Temporary Shoring Needed?

Restoration work and extensive renovations can cause unstable buildings. Temporary shoring stabilizes a building to keep workers, sites, neighbours, and public space safe. Walls or soil can fall without appropriate support, causing injuries or damage to a job site or building. Shoring can be used to stabilize buildings with weak foundations that require masonry or other construction work to repair the foundation.

Roads, sidewalks, and structures adjacent to a job site are protected by temporary shoring systems, especially if drilling, digging, or other work can cause additional destablization and ground movement over the course of a construction project.

Temporary shoring provides props, posts and towers to support construction work when the existing structure is insufficient or building elements are being removed during construction. Modular systems provide flexibility to adapt to project requirements.

Some projects require temporary structural modifications, while others may use the existing structure to support construction activities. When existing structural elements do not have sufficient strength to support construction loads, temporary shoring is required using props, posts, or beams to provide support.
