Serving Toronto construction since 2019, we’re proud to provide custom scaffolding installation, rental and design for residential, historical, commercial and industrial properties. 

Founded by lifelong friends-turned-business-partners Matt Johnson and Brendan Playfair in 2012, Johnson Playfair has always prioritized high-quality custom masonry and building relationships with our clients and other industry professionals.

Johnson Playfair Scaffold was started in 2019 out of a desire to offer better scaffolding solutions to GTA construction and trades. JP Scaffold continues to strive for and prioritize the same high level of professionalism in scaffolding as in our masonry business, helping mark us as one of the city’s top scaffolding installation companies. We offer a dedicated scaffold crew whose care and expertise in residential and heritage construction and restoration means your site is left clean and intact.

Our founders started working in the trades together as teenagers, including as labourers for a restoration mason. After several years of working for others in both Ontario and B.C., they decided to join forces and start their own company that could offer the dual specialties of both custom new construction and restoration.

We use quality Layher scaffolding manufactured in Germany, making our scaffold installation possibilities safe, strong, versatile, and lightweight.
